Just so we're clear...

The cat stool next to Lukas is Ember's (our black cat), and Lukas is sitting on his cat stool.

Lukas is watching the rain because it's outside.

Lukas declared all this to me this morning several times, so I thought I'd share.  :)  I love toddler logic!

Adenoidectomy

On Friday (3-6-09) Lukas had surgery to remove his adenoids.  We were told to arrive at 11:30am, and Lukas was to have no food after midnight and no drink after 5:30.  Basically this meant that he wasn't going to be able to have food or drink after he woke up in the morning.  We anticipated this to be a great struggle, but it didn't turn out to be near so tough a battle.  Whenever he got fussy, we just distracted him and then he took a nap.  His surgery took place at Texas Pediactric Surgery Center.  This is the second time he's had surgery there (ear tubes in September was the first), and I was again impressed.  The staff is so nice, and effecient yet accomodating where they can be.  The surgery took about 25 min, and we had another 30-45 min of recovery.  Everything went without a hitch, and he came out of anethesia smoothly.  We came home and he slept for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  He then ate dinner of applesauce, jello, and yogurt.  His mood has been pretty normal, but tired and hyper.  I think he's hyper to try and cover up the fact that he doesn't feel good.  Thank you for all your prayers, and hopefully this will be the end of his "medical issues".

Just plain cute!!

Proof that, yes, that evening he was acting fairly normal.
