Experiment

We started an experiment this morning. For Christmas Lukas got a package of dinosaurs that grow in water. The instructions indicate it takes approximately 48 hours for them to grow to 6 times their normal size after being placed in water. When removed from water they supposedly shrink back down, so you can do it again later. Lukas was very excited to start the experiment, however he got bored with it when nothing happened in the first 30 minutes.

He stared at it for a little over 5 minutes waiting for it to do something.

This is the dinosaur inside the water.

Hopefully in a couple of days this experiment will have a successful update.

Happy Valentines Day!

Eric you are my amazing helper, friend, lover, confidant, and Daddy to our son (and soon daughter). I'm amazed every time I think of how God placed us together. We are so different, but wonderfully similar. You find all my weaknesses and fill them to make me more complete than I could ever be alone. I love watching you with our son, and I can't wait to see you with our daughter. You are a wonderful and caring Daddy, and I wouldn't want anyone else to be in that position. You are truly my other half. Thank you for loving me the way you do. I am blessed and honored to be your wife.

I love you!!!

February 11, 2010 - A Historic Snow Day

This past Thursday it started snowing about 4am, and didn't stop until about midnight. We got between 8 and 10 inches of snow! Yes, that's a big range but I lost track after a while. Unfortunately, Lukas was in a week of staying "indoors, out of the elements, and out of school" (those were the exact words of the pulmonologist) so he didn't get to enjoy the snow to the fullest. We did go outside for about 15 min because how can you deprive a kid of playing in snow?! There was much crying when we made him come inside, but that was cleared up by getting to take a bath.

Thursday morning....

Friday morning....

Lukas was putting his hands out to catch the snow flakes before we let him outside in it.

Playing in the snow!!

The breathing treatment that has been a HUGE (and constant) part of about the past month.

Happenings Around the Swayne House

These pictures represent what we've (okay, what Lukas) been up to the past few weeks. When I looked at all the pictures, I realized that he was in the same pj's in most of them even though they weren't all taken on the same day.

Playing his "computer" games.

Decorating and playing in his castle.

This picture was taken to show all the animals that he sleeps with on his bed. And if they are not all in the right position, he will not go to sleep until it's corrected.

Playing in a box.

Watching movies on Daddy's computer.

Reading before bedtime.

Daddy became a lounge chair, and Lukas was very comfortable.

Playing Mr. Potato Head.

A great way to start the day...playing by the fire.

About half these pictures were taken while he was sick with RSV.
