Yesterday most of America celebrated Mother's, and ours was no different. We went to Cantina Laredo, which turned out to be wonderfully uncrowded (although we made reservations beforehand just to be safe), to celebrate Judi (my wonderful mother-in-law) and myself. On the way home from lunch I called my mom (who lives in Houston) to tell her how much I loved her.
I am so blessed to have two moms at the moment.
I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful relationship with my mother-in-law that many do not enjoy. I am thankful for her because she is here in person while my own mother is not (while only a few hours away...still not here). She is such an amazing and strong Christian woman. While not actually a single mom because of the travel in Mike's (my father-in-law) job she did most of the daily stuff alone. With Eric's asthma issues, that were even greater when he was younger, I can't even imagine what that was like to do alone. Judi, I love you!
I am also blessed to have been raised by the most amazing woman in the world. I was shown how to be a mom, so now that I am one I have the confidence to actually be one. She modeled how to be a Christian wife and mom for me, and most importantly she became my friend. She is now (and has been for a while) one of my best friends, and I don't know what I would do without some of the information and wisdom she's been able to give to me. You are such an amazing woman, Mom! I love you!
I know this was a little late since Mother Day was yesterday, but I thought about the post all day yesterday with no time to write it.
So here's to all the mom's for all the everyday stuff we do. May we always endure, and always be loved for it (maybe not always liked but always loved). And may God give us the strength to get through each minute of every day no matter how easy or hard.
Lukas and I on our 2nd Mother's Day!

This was such a precious post! Mother's Day was great for me as well but blogging wise, it slipped past me!
I enjoyed our time today. Be safe on your journey to Houston. We will be thinking of Lukas tomorrow at the ENT!
Hugs,
J
